2012 PhotoWorkshops
Overview
The Change Islands Centre for the Arts (CICA) is presenting small and intimate 5-day workshops during the summer and winter of 2012 on the historic Change Islands in Notre Dame Bay, Newfoundland.
Four Photography Workshops conducted by Director Andrew Danson Danushevsky will take place June 18-22, July 9-13, August 7-11, and September 10-14, 2012.
The winter workshop will take place February 20-24, 2012. see http://cicaworkshops.com/winter
Each Workshop is limited to 4 people. Photographers from beginner to advanced are invited to attend a workshop on the quaint, beautiful and remote Change Islands. Change Islands is a 20-minute car-ferry ride from the Farewell wharf, one-hour north of Gander International Airport.
The Workhops have been designed to provide each participant with close attention in a balanced program of visual exploration, technical skill and constructive technique. Selected site visits on the islands are combined with computer-lab instruction with time to process and print images. Guests are requested to bring their own laptops with digital imaging software.
The Program
The Photo Workhops allow participants at different skill levels to work at their own pace. The stress-free Change Islands atmosphere is a departure from city time and city pace.
The Workshops are very much about: seeing...discovery...waiting...time...space....reflection...spiritual experience. These elements are connected to both the dynamic weather that visits the islands. Constructive critiques between instructor and participants are shared within the workshops. The above integrated approach has proven highly successful in all our previous workshops.
On a technical level:
The workshops cover the following areas: camera operation, (lenses, zooming, aperture, shutter speeds, ISO, exposure), reading light, looking at lighting, portraits, landscape, still life, composition/framing, quick shooting, editing, flash, digital imaging/processing, printing, exhibiting.
